So with this there is no reason not to eat them, why not try this yummy Walnut & Stilton Soda Bread recipe.


  • 100g Wholemeal Self Raising Flour

  • 100g Plain Flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda

  • 25g porridge oats

  • 150ml natural yoghurt

  • 100ml water

  • 50g chopped walnuts

  • 50g stilton cheese

  1. In a large mixing bowl add the flours, salt, bicarbonate of soda & oats and mix together

  2. Make a well and add the walnuts and crumble in the stilton

  3. Now add the yoghurt and mix together, gradually adding the water to form a dough

  4. Once you have a sticky dough add some extra flour to make it into a ball and turn out onto a floured surface

  5. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, adding extra flour if the dough becomes sticky

  6. Pat out the dough into a round, then using a knife make 3 slashes on the top

  7. Transfer on to a baking tray and put in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until golden

  8. TIP; to check the bread has cooked through, the bottom of the bread will sound hollow when you tap it
